What a Kitchen Remodel Actually Costs in Ridgemont in 2026

We finished 23 kitchens last year across Ridgemont, Fairhaven, and Oak Grove. Here is what they cost, what pushed the number up, and where people were surprised.

The short answer

Ninety percent landed between $48,000 and $92,000, all in — design, permits, cabinetry, counters, electrical, tile, and paint. The median was $64,800. A kitchen that keeps its footprint and reuses the plumbing wall can finish in the high forties. Move the sink, open a load-bearing wall, and upgrade the panel, and you're in the eighties before you've picked a faucet.

What actually moves the price

1. Whether walls move

Opening the wall to a dining room is the single most common request we get, and it's the biggest line item after cabinetry. Header, temporary shoring, engineer's letter, and the drywall and flooring repair on both sides run $6,500–$14,000 depending on span and what's in the wall.

2. Cabinetry grade

Stock to semi-custom is about a $9,000 jump on an average kitchen. Semi-custom to full custom is another $14,000–$22,000. Most of our clients stop at semi-custom and put the difference into counters and lighting.

3. Electrical

Two of every three homes we open here still have 100-amp service. Current code wants dedicated circuits for the range, the disposal, the microwave, and two small-appliance circuits on the counters. A 200-amp upgrade is $2,800–$4,200 in this market.

If a quote doesn't mention your electrical panel, it isn't a quote. It's a placeholder that will grow.

Where people get surprised

• Counter templating waits for cabinets. That's a real 10–14 day gap in every schedule. Anyone promising otherwise hasn't run the job.
• Appliance lead times. Panel-ready refrigerators still run 8–16 weeks. We order before demo, always.
• Plaster, not drywall. Pre-1965 homes cost more to demo and to patch. It's a labor line, not a materials one.

How to compare three quotes fairly

Put them side by side and look for four things: is the panel addressed, is the header engineered and priced, are the allowances named with real product numbers, and is there a start date in writing. A cheap quote missing all four is not cheap — it's incomplete.
